This, in my opinion, is pretty much the only thing missing from PircBot, and it seems strange that it's not included as default, so am I missing something and it does exist? Or if not, I'd hope it can be updated to include it.

Hi Perhaps there is a bit of confusion over the name here ... PircBot is an IRC API, for developers, so it concentrating on that and not doing anything else is actually a good thing As you were mentioning images though, are you perhaps on about some ready system using PircBot such as the comicbot from jibble.org or something related to PPF (PircBot Plugin Framework) and some plugin? If you can give a little more info about what you are using, then we can maybe help out a bit better.

Oh, right, lol. I'm talking about PieSpy, and from Jibble's site it just links to this forum for ideas/issues with it, I didn't know it was an API. >.<

Ok I could probably throw something simple together to add support for FTP when I get some inspiration (probably over Christmas holidays). I'll reply to this post if and when I do that - it's a good idea!
