Hi

The demos are not something to be installed, they are just code demonstrations of how to use the PircBot API.  This means that you can take them as they are and compile them to be able to run them to start playing around but they are really meant just as ideas on how you could acheive some tasks with your own PircBot implementations.  PircBot is a developer API, not something to be run with functionality directly.

If you are looking for something to run rather than code (or even add code to), then you could take a look at ppf.sf.net

Yes, i am familliar with what the PircBot API is. My question is, where should i place the property/class files in? put the com folder in pircbot.jar and put the .properties in the root?

No, you don't touch pircbot.jar.

There isn't really a big difference to running these demos as there is from doing the PircBot tutorial ( http://www.jibble.org/pircbot.php ) but instead of writing MyBot.java and MyBotMain.java you have the demo bot ready for you. Just use the package and classname of the demo bot.

As for the properties file then as that is being loaded without any path information then it needs to be available where you actually run the java command from, the current directory at that point.

Here is a nice explanation of how the Java classpath argument works: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classpath_%28Java%29
